Toyota Echo Clutch Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Answers

  • Q: How to remove the master cylinder on Toyota Echo and Toyota Yaris?
A: To remove the Clutch Master Cylinder, start by releasing the spring clip on the Clutch Hose at the top of the cylinder and disconnecting the hose. Clamp the fluid supply hose or use a plug to prevent fluid loss. Unscrew the slave cylinder supply pipe union at the side of the master cylinder, using penetrating fluid if necessary. Inside the car, move the driver's seat fully to the rear and remove the pedal return spring with needle-nosed pliers. Remove the spring clip and clevis pin to detach the clutch pedal. Remove the two master cylinder mounting nuts inside the car and withdraw the master cylinder. If the master cylinder is faulty, it will need to be replaced. To refit, tighten the mounting nuts and fluid pipe union to the specified torque. Ensure the fluid hose connection is clean and secure, and bleed the clutch upon completion.
