Q: How to remove and reinstall the inlet manifold?
A: The Intake Manifold is made of plastic, so avoid striking it or using excessive force during removal. To begin, drain the cooling system and remove the throttle body and coolant filler neck (on later models). Set aside the engine oil dipstick. Remove the nuts securing the wiring harness brackets and lift the harness clear. Unclip the wiring harness from the side of the manifold. Disconnect the breather hose and brake servo vacuum hose from the ports on the inlet manifold. On early models, disconnect the hoses from the coolant filler neck and remove it. Remove the three central bolts and two end nuts to withdraw the manifold from the cylinder head. Remember to use a new one-piece gasket when refitting and ensure the mating faces are clean. Finally, tighten the inlet manifold nuts and bolts to the specified torque.
