First of all, to replace the timing chain cover, drain the engine oil, remove the cylinder head cover, spark plugs, crankshaft pulley, power steering pump, VVT-I oil control valve, alternator, throttle cable, engine mounting, water pump, timing chain cover. Inspect the chain, guides, sprockets, and tensioner for wear, replacing if needed. Consider replacing the crankshaft oil seal. Tighten all fasteners and allow the sealant to cure.
