Use a screwdriver to pry the plastic cover from its hole in the subframe to access the Trailing Arm inner mounting nuts, and then remove the inner mounting bolt and nut while supporting the Trailing Arm. Finally, remove the Trailing Arm from the vehicle. To install the Trailing Arm, position it with the slits in the bushings facing the rear, ensuring that the stamped arms are marked L or R and the tubular arms have a small spot of paint on the wheel end. Install the inner mounting bolt finger tight, insert the Trailing Arm-to-axle carrier bolt through the arms and carrier, and tighten the nut hand tight. Connect the strut rod to the axle carrier, raise the axle carrier to simulate normal ride height, and if installing a number two Trailing Arm, align the previously applied match marks on the toe adjuster cam and inner mounting bracket. Tighten the inner mounting bolt and nut, Trailing Arm-to-axle carrier bolt/nut, and strut rod bolt. Install the wheel and lug nuts, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts. Finally, have the rear wheel alignment checked by a dealer service department or an alignment shop.
