- A:To begin the removal process, loosen the wheel lug nuts and raise the vehicle, securely supporting it on jack stands. Remove the wheels. Proceed by removing the brake hose banjo bolt and disconnecting the hose from the caliper. It is advisable to plug the hose to prevent contamination and minimize brake fluid loss. Remove the caliper mounting bolts and remove the caliper. If needed, remove the caliper torque plate from the steering knuckle. During installation, start by installing the caliper following the reverse order of removal. Remember to use new sealing washers on both sides of the brake hose banjo fitting. Tighten the caliper mounting bolts (and torque plate bolts, if previously removed) to the specified torque. If the brake hose was disconnected, bleed the brake system to remove any air. Install the wheels and lug nuts, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts to the proper torque specifications.Posted by ToyotaPartsDeal Specialist
