To remove the fuel pump pulsator from the fuel rail on a V6 model, remove this retainer clip, then pull the pulsator out of the fuel rail.Remove the old 0-ring from the fuel pump pulsator and replace it with a new one. Coat the new 0-ring with a little clean engine oil before installing it.Installation is the reverse of removal.FOUR-CYLINDER MODELS Note: The fuel pump pulsator is located at the rear end of the fuel rail.Disconnect the fuel supply line from the fuel rail. Pull up the clamp and disconnect the fuel supply line from the fuel pump pulsator.Remove the two fuel pump pulsator mounting bolts. Disconnect the fuel line connector where it joins the pipe from the Fuel Pump Pulsator at the end of the fuel rail. Remove the air filter housing. For four-cylinder models, remove the two damper mounting bolts at the fuel rail and the damper. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to install a new O-ring and tighten the bolts. For V6 models, remove the upper intake manifold. Disconnect the vacuum line to the damper. Pull the locking clip out from the base of the damper and separate the damper from the fuel rail. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to install a new O-ring onto the damper. Remove the old O-ring from the Fuel Pump Pulsator and replace it.
