Q:
What are the differences in the V6 engine mounts and their replacement procedures? Posted by Customer
A:
But note that the V6 engine mounts are slightly different in ways that don't significantly affect the check and replacement procedures. The basic arrangement and construction of the three engine mounts is very similar to the four-cylinder model, except that the engine movement control rod assembly has two stays, one mounted on either side of the bracket on the engine. To remove these, take out the two through-bolts and the engine movement control rod. In addition to the front engine mount, V6 models have a shock absorbing mount, mounted between the engine and chassis, to the left of the conventional front engine mount. To replace the V6 mount shock absorber, remove the through-bolt and the nut and bushing at the top. The rear mount on V6 models differs in that the engine mounting bracket is a casting that cradles the insulator, which is retained by a through-bolt to the chassis bracket. To remove this, take out the through-bolt at the rear mount, raise the engine, remove the nuts from below and remove the insulator.
