To remove the wheel, start by loosening the lug nuts and raising the vehicle securely on jack stands. Remove the wheel and then proceed to remove the brake caliper, supporting it with a piece of wire. Remove the caliper mount and separate the brake disc from the hub. Loosen the hub nut. If working on a 1989 or earlier model, mark the relationship of the strut to the steering knuckle and the camber adjuster for easier reassembly. Loosen the strut-to-steering knuckle bolts and separate the tie-rod from the steering knuckle arm. Remove the ball joint to lower arm bolt and nuts, and then remove the strut-to-knuckle bolts. Support the end of the drive axle with wire and carefully separate the steering knuckle from the strut and lower arm. To install, guide the knuckle and hub assembly into position, inserting the drive axle into the hub. If working on a 1989 or earlier model, install the camber adjuster into the knuckle. Push the knuckle into the strut flange and install the bolts and nuts without tightening them yet. Connect the ball joint to the control arm and install the bolt and nuts without tightening them yet. Attach the tie-rod to the steering knuckle arm. Tighten the strut bolt nuts, the ball joint to control arm bolt and nuts, and the tie-rod nut. Place the brake disc on the hub and install the caliper. Install the hub nut and tighten it. Finally, install the wheel and lug nuts, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts.
