If the stereo in your vehicle is equipped with an anti-theft system, make sure you have the correct activation code before disconnecting the battery. The blower unit is located in the cooling assembly under the dash and in the passenger compartment on rear mounted A/C units. If the blower doesn't work, check the fuse and all connections in the circuit for looseness and corrosion. Make sure the battery is fully charged. Locate the blower unit electrical connector. If the blower motor does not operate, disconnect the electrical connector at the blower motor, turn the ignition key On (engine not running) and check for battery voltage with the blower speed switch ON. If battery voltage is not present, there is a problem in the ignition feed circuit or in the circuit from the blower switch to the motor. If battery voltage is present, reconnect the terminal to the blower motor and backprobe the correct terminal with a jumper wire connected to ground. If the motor still does not operate, the motor is probably faulty. Apply fused power and ground connections to the blower motor terminals, if the motor does not operate, replace the motor. If the motor is good, but doesn't operate the blower resistor or the heater/air conditioning control switch is probably faulty. Remove the control assembly and check for continuity through the switch in each position. Remove the resistor and check for continuity across each of the terminals. If the blower motor must be replaced, remove the bracket retaining the wiring connector to the blower, then remove the three mounting screws and lower the blower assembly from the housing. The fan can be removed and reused on the new blower motor. Installation is the reverse of removal. Check for proper operation.
