Drive a new axleshaft inner seal into the end of the axle tube with a seal installer or a big socket, and coat the lip of the seal with clean oil or multi-purpose grease.

Road noise and tire noise are often mistaken for mechanical faults, while engine and transmission noise can travel along the driveline.

Loosen the rear wheel lug nuts, raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands placed under the frame. Block the front wheels to keep the vehicle from rolling off the stands. Remove the rear wheels. Position a jack under the rear axle differential housing. Disconnect the driveshaft from the differential. Fasten the driveshaft out of the way with a piece of wire from the underbody. Disconnect the load sensing proportioning and bypass valve height sensing spring from the axle. Detach all brake hoses or lines from the axle housing, then plug them to prevent fluid leakage. Remove the rear brake assemblies. Disconnect the parking brake cables from the brake assemblies and detach the cables from the rear axle housing. Detach the vent hose from the axle housing. Disconnect the shock absorbers from the spring seats or from the axle brackets. Disconnect the leaf spring U-bolts and remove the spacers, bumpers, and spring seats. Remove the rear driveaxles. Remove the rear differential mounting fasteners. Lower the jack under the differential, then remove the rear axle assembly/differential from under the vehicle. Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten all suspension fasteners. On Sequoia models, tighten the four front mounting bolts first, followed by the two rear mounting bolts. On Tundra models, bleed the brakes.

Drain the differential and remove the grease cap.

Axle will not come with the bearing - no harness or any hardware.
