- A:To remove the HVAC control unit, start by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery. Then, pull off the center knob to expose a screw securing the top of the center trim panel. The rest of the panel is retained by clips, so carefully remove it and mark the electrical connectors before disconnecting them. Next, pull the control unit out enough to disconnect the heater control cables from the rear of the unit and disconnect the electrical connectors from the blower speed switch and A/C switch. To install, simply reverse the removal procedure and run the engine to check for the proper functioning of the A/C switch and air conditioning (if equipped).Posted by ToyotaPartsDeal Specialist
