To remove the radiator, start by disconnecting the negative battery cable and draining the coolant into a container. Then, remove both the upper and lower radiator hoses, as well as the reservoir hose from the radiator filler neck. If there is a cooling fan, remove it as well. For vehicles with an automatic transaxle, disconnect the cooler lines from the radiator, place a drip pan beneath to catch any fluid, and cap the fittings. Proceed to remove the bolts that attach the radiator to its support and carefully lift out the radiator, being cautious of any dripping fluids and sharp fins. Once the radiator is removed, inspect it for leaks, damage, and internal blockage. Clean off bugs and dirt using compressed air and a soft brush, taking care not to bend the cooling fins. For installation, reverse the removal procedure and ensure the rubber mounts are in place. After installation, fill the cooling system with the appropriate mixture of antifreeze and water. Start the engine, check for leaks, and allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature. Recheck the coolant level and add more if necessary. On models with automatic transmission, check and add fluid as needed. For coolant reservoir removal, typically involves removing one bolt, and the reservoir can be pulled up and out of the bracket on the fender well. Pour the coolant into a container and inspect the reservoir for cracks or chafing. Replace it if any damage is found. Installation is simply the reverse of the removal process.
