Next, locate and remove the mounting screws on the front of the A/C switch assembly. Pull the switch out slightly and push the temperature control shaft (for Camry models) through, leaving it in position as the switch panel is pulled forward. For installation, simply reverse the removal procedure. Run the engine and check for the proper functioning of the A/C. For cable adjustment (except automatic AC), set the control lever to FRESH to adjust the air inlet damper control cable. Install the cable and clamp it in place. To adjust the air mix control cable, set the air mix to COOL, install the cable, and lock the clamp while applying slight pressure away from the firewall on the outer cable. For electrical checks (except automatic AC), check the continuity of the A/C switch between terminals 2 andThere should be continuity when the switch is pushed in (ON). Use a self-powered continuity tester to test the terminals on the back of the control unit, starting with the mode control switch. Test the blower speed control switch for continuity.
