  Q: How to rebuild or replace a slave cylinder?

  A: Before beginning the procedure, it is important to contact local parts stores and dealers to inquire about the availability and cost of a rebuild kit or a new Clutch Slave Cylinder. This will determine whether the cylinder should be rebuilt or replaced. If the decision is made to rebuild the cylinder, follow the instructions provided in the rebuild kit. To start, raise the vehicle and secure it on jack stands. Clean the top of the Clutch Master Cylinder and cover it with plastic wrap to create a partial vacuum and prevent fluid from siphoning out. Disconnect the flexible hydraulic hose from the rigid metal line using a flare nut wrench and plug or tape the end of the line to contain the remaining fluid and keep dirt out. Remove the cylinder retaining bolts and withdraw the cylinder from the clutch housing, ensuring the pushrod is disengaged from the release arm. To complete the process, install the cylinder in reverse order and bleed the hydraulic system.
