Q:
How do you remove the fuel injectors and Fuel Rail on 2002 through 2008 Toyota Solara and 2002 through 2006 Toyota Avalon? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the fuel injectors, start by relieving the fuel pressure and detaching the battery cable. Remove the PCV hose and, on V6 models with performance suspension, the suspension brace. For V6 models, remove the assembly retaining the Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) control solenoids and the air intake plenum to access the rear fuel rail. Disconnect the fuel injector electrical connectors and the fuel lines from the fuel rail. Remove the fuel rail mounting bolts and carefully lift out the fuel rail with the injectors attached. Twist and pull the injectors to remove them from the fuel rail and store them in a labeled container. If reusing the injectors, replace the grommets and O-rings. To install the fuel injectors, reverse the removal process and tighten the fuel rail mounting bolts.

A:
For 2GR-FKS V6 models, there are specific instructions depending on whether it is port injection or direct injection fuel rails. For port injection, you need to remove the upper intake manifold, disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors, and remove the fuel rail and injectors as a single assembly. For direct injection, you need to remove the upper intake manifold and high-pressure fuel pump, disconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors, and then remove the fuel rail and injectors.
