The radio in Avalon models can be taken out by following these steps: start by unplugging the negative battery cable, then take out the center dashboard trim bezel, loosen the retaining screws, pull the radio forward to view its backside, disconnect the electrical wires and antenna cord. For installation, follow the reverse process. First remove the front and rear door trim panels. Inside these panels you'll find door speakers. Remove the screws holding the speakers in place. Disconnect the power connection and take the whole speaker out of the car for easy installation later. To remove rear package shelf speakers, first pull off the shelf's retaining clips, loosen and remove the screws holding the speakers, disconnect the wiring from inside the trunk, and take out the speakers. Installation is again the reverse of removal. To take out tweeters near the front door windows, put tape around your screwdriver tip and use it to pry the tweeter carefully from underneath. After pulling it out, disconnect the wiring plug, and reverse these steps to put it all back.
