- Q: How to remove the front fender of a Toyota Matrix?A:To disassemble the front fender, raise the vehicle, support it on jack stands, remove the front wheel, the headlight housing, inner fender well screws and clips, and then remove the inner fender well liner. You must also remove the lower rocker panel by removing the rubber plugs and loosening the lower fender-to-body bolt. Use a plastic trim tool to remove the front fender flare panel and loosen the lower fender bolt. After that, open the front door and remove the two fender-to-body bolts and the bolt inside the fender well. Remove the front Bumper cover, the two fender fasteners under the headlight housing area, the cowl louver panel, and the rubber hood sealing strip, remove the two upper fender-to-body mounting bolts and the fender. Finally, carefully lift off the fender while ensuring an assistant supports it to prevent damage to surrounding panels. For installation, simply follow the reverse order of removal. Check the alignment of the fender to the hood and front edge of the door before tightening the fender fasteners.
