- Q: How to remove and reinstall the Sway Bar Bushing and Sway Bar Kit on Toyota Matrix?A:When tightening the rear wheel receive the lug nuts, lower the rear of the vehicle to the ground and safely put it on jackstands. Bolt or nut to the rear sway bar kit and axle beam need to be undone to disengage the rear sway bar. The sway bar is situated in front of the open back U channel axle beam and this by removing bolts one may require the use of a prybar to disengage it from the axle beam. For reinstallation the process should be reversed corresponding to the removal procedure, noting that an indentation on the top of the bar should be upward and on the left side of the axle beam. Last but not the least, sequentially fix the bolts/nuts in its required torque values.
