Disconnect the negative battery cable, followed by the positive battery cable. Remove the dashboard trim panels, the instrument cluster, and the glove box. Disconnect and remove the passenger's side air bag. Take out the audio unit from the center of the dashboard and the air conditioning control panel. Remove the driver's knee bolster and reinforcement panel. Use a trim tool to pry off the windshield pillar trim panels and disconnect the small tweeter speakers, if equipped. Disconnect a number of electrical connectors to remove the instrument panel, ensuring they match the corresponding male or female connectors. In the area where the instrument cluster was mounted, disconnect additional electrical connectors. Remove all fasteners holding the instrument panel to the body, including bolts, screws, and nuts. Lift the panel and pull it away from the windshield, taking it out through the driver's door opening, ideally with assistance. This task may require two people, and it might be necessary to remove bolts from the instrument panel reinforcement tube for complete removal. Installation follows the reverse order of removal.
