There are two column-mounted switches; the left side features the turn signal/headlight switch, while the right side has the wiper/washer switch. Trace the wire from the combination switch to the main wiring harness connector and disconnect the connectors. Using an ohmmeter or self-powered test light along with the accompanying diagrams, check for continuity between the indicated switch terminals with the switch in each of the indicated positions. If the continuity isn't as specified, replace the switch. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery, then remove the steering wheel and the steering column covers. For 2003 and earlier models, unplug the wiring from the switch, remove the screws, and pull the switch from the column. Individual switches can then be removed from the switch body and replaced as necessary by detaching the retaining screws or pins. Installation is the reverse of removal. For 2004 and later models, detach the connector, use a plastic trim tool or a screwdriver wrapped with tape to release the plastic hook, and then pull the switch out, taking care not to break the hook. Installation is again the reverse of removal.
