Remove the door trim panel and the plastic watershield. Next, take out the window glass. For power-operated windows, disconnect the electrical connector from the window regulator motor. Then, remove the regulator assembly mounting bolts or rivets; on models with power windows, the motor should come out with the regulator. In some cases, the regulator may be secured by rivets, which will need to be drilled out for removal. If the motor is to be detached from a power-window assembly, mark both the regulator gear and the motor bracket for alignment during installation. Pull the equalizer arm and regulator assemblies through the service hole in the doorframe to remove them. Installation follows the reverse order of removal, ensuring to lubricate the rollers, gears, and wear points on the regulator with white grease before installation, while avoiding greasing the regulator spring.
