First of all, you should turn off the car and unhook the clamp connected to the negative terminal of the battery. Next, remove the drivebelt(s). After which, unbolt the protecting cap and unfasten the nut to address the B+ terminal alongside with the alternator electrical connection. Disconnect the nuts freed bolt of harness brackets fixed at the alternator and engine, place the wiring harness and brackets out of the way. Go on to take out the upper and the lower alternator bolts and pull out the alternator out of the car, using the prybar to ease it out of the upper clip. If you are replacing the alternator, take the old one with you when you are buying a new /rebuilt alternator and make sure a Said terminal number, size, location, and identification on the new alternator should be the same as in the old one. During installation, it is done in the reverse manner as when removal was done, and special care is taken to tighten the bolts. Last but not the least, one needs to measure the charging voltage to ensure the correct working of the alternator.
