To remove the wiper arm, first operate the wiper motor and then switch it off to allow the arm to return to the 'park' position. Next, prise off the wiper arm spindle nut cover, then slacken and remove the spindle nut, ensuring to lift the tailgate wiper arm cover if necessary to access the nut. Lift the blade off the glass and pull the wiper arm off its spindle, noting that on some models, the arms may be tightly fitted on the spindle splines. In such cases, a flat-bladed screwdriver can be used to carefully lever the arm off, taking care not to damage the scuttle cover panel, and in extreme situations, a small puller may be required. For refitting, ensure the wiper arm and spindle splines are clean and dry before refitting the arm to the spindle, aligning the wiper blade with any tape used during removal if applicable. Finally, securely tighten the spindle nut and clip the nut cover back into position.
