To remove a wheel, one has to first loosen the lug nuts, lift the car to a safe height using a jack and then place it on support stands/pillars. Subsequently, unscrew the tie-rod end and the jam nut needed for this model of the car. Pull off the outer rack and pinion boot clamp using a pair of pliers because the clamp used is a spring-type clamp that is easy to snap off. Using the diagonal cutters, the inner boot clamp has to be cut because the boots of the rack and pinion end inside the clamp that needs to be disposed. Lift off the boot and before fitting a new one, it is essential to cover the threads and serrations at the end of the steering rod with some tape in order to avoid exerting an impact on the small end of a boot. Push the new boot over the handle and in until it fits into the groove of the steering rod and insert new clamps. Now reattach the tape and install the tie-rod end. Last, fix the wheel and lug nuts, then raise the vehicle and then final tighten the lug nuts.
