- A:To remove the ignition coil/igniter assembly, start by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery. Then, remove the engine cover and the air intake duct. Next, take out the air filter housing. Each ignition coil/igniter assembly is secured by one bolt, so unscrew the bolt and disconnect the electrical connector.
