Toyota 88460-20200 Condenser Assy, Cooler

Have the refrigerant discharged at a dealer service department or an automotive air conditioning repair facility. Remove the grille and the engine under covers. Remove the hood latch and horns by disconnecting the hood latch cable, the horn wiring connections and the horn and brace mounting bolts. Remove the air conditioning fan. Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser, using a back-up wrench to avoid twisting the lines if equipped with two nuts. Immediately cap the open fittings to prevent the entry of dirt and moisture. Unbolt the condenser by removing the four mounting bolts and pulling the condenser free, then lift it out of the vehicle. Store it upright to prevent oil loss. Installation is the reverse of removal. If a new condenser was installed, add 1.4 to 1.7 ounces (40 to 50 cc) of refrigerant oil to the system. Have the system evacuated, charged and leak tested by the shop that discharged it.
