Q:
How to remove and install an oil cooler on Toyota T100,Toyota 4Runner and 1995 through 2004 Toyota Tacoma? Posted by Customer
A:
Disconnect the negative battery cable. If the stereo in your vehicle is equipped with an anti-theft system, make sure you have the correct activation code before disconnecting the battery. Drain the coolant into a container. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Remove the front exhaust pipe assembly from the vehicle. If equipped with the PAIR emission system, remove the air pipe. Remove the exhaust manifold. Remove the oil pressure switch. Remove the oil cooler hoses. Disconnect the coolant hoses from the oil cooler. Remove the oil cooler mounting bolt. Use a breaker bar and socket to remove the oil cooler mounting bolt. Installation is the reverse of removal. Be sure to use a new gasket under the relief valve and a new O-ring between the oil cooler and the engine block. If equipped, make sure the alignment tab engages with the projection on the engine block. Tighten the relief valve to the torque.
