To remove the A/C Condenser, start by discharging the refrigerant at a dealer service department or an automotive air conditioning repair facility. Then, remove the grille, engine under covers, hood latch, center brace, and horns. Next, take out the condenser fan and disconnect the refrigerant lines from the condenser, using a backup wrench to avoid twisting the lines if necessary. Immediately cap the open fittings to prevent dirt and moisture from entering. Finally, unbolt the condenser and lift it out of the vehicle, storing it upright to prevent oil loss. For installation, simply follow the reverse steps of removal. If a new condenser was installed, add the appropriate amount of refrigerant oil to the system. It is important to note that when replacing entire components, additional refrigerant oil should be added equal to the amount that was removed with the component being replaced. Finally, have the system evacuated, charged, and leak tested by the shop that discharged it.
