    Q:
How to remove and install a door latch,Lock Cylinder and Handle on Toyota Land Cruiser? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the door latch, first raise the window and remove the door trim panel along with the water shield. Access the large hole to disengage the outside door handle-to-latch rod, outside door lock-to-latch rod, inside lock-to-latch rod, inside handle-to-latch rod, and lock solenoid-to-latch rod if equipped. All locking rods are secured by plastic clips, which can be removed by unsnapping the clip and pulling the rod out. Next, remove the screws that secure the latch to the door, pulling the latch assembly through the access hole. For the outside handle and lock cylinder assembly, raise the window and remove the door trim panel and water shield, then disengage the plastic clips securing the outside handle and lock to the latch rod through the access hole. Remove the handle retaining bolts and the lock cylinder clip or bolt, then take out the handle and lock cylinder assembly. For the inside handle, remove the door trim panel and peel away the water shield, unclip the door actuating rod guide, and remove the retaining screws. Rotate the handle outward to detach the actuating rods, pull the handle free, disconnect the actuating rod from the backside, and remove the handle from the door. Reinstallation follows the reverse order of removal for all components.
