To check the ignition switch, follow these steps, Trace the wire from the ignition switch to the main wiring harness connector and disconnect it. Then, use an ohmmeter or self-powered test light to assess continuity between the specified switch terminals in different switch positions. If continuity doesn't match the specified values, replace the switch. For ignition switch removal, begin by disconnecting the battery's negative terminal cable and placing the ignition key in the ACC position. Proceed to remove the steering wheel and steering column covers. Then, take out the steering column switches and unplug the ignition switch wiring harness connectors. Detach the switch retaining screws and remove the switch assembly from the steering column. Installation involves reversing the removal process. To remove the Ignition Lock Cylinder, depress the Ignition Lock Cylinder retaining pin using a small screwdriver or punch, then pull the Ignition Lock Cylinder straight out from the vehicle. To install the Ignition Lock Cylinder, depress the retaining pin and guide the Ignition Lock Cylinder into the steering column housing until the retaining pin locks into the locating hole. The rest of the installation process is the reverse of the removal steps.
