To inspect, remove, and install brake discs, follow these steps. Begin by loosening the wheel lug nuts, raising the vehicle, and securing it on jack stands. Remove the wheel. Remove the brake caliper, suspending it with wire and avoiding any stress or twisting of the hose. Detach the hose/line bracket from the steering knuckle for the front brakes. Install two lug nuts with washers to hold the disc against the hub. Visually inspect the disc surface for damage and check for disc run-out using a dial indicator. Ensure the disc thickness meets the minimum refinish thickness. For removal, on floating-type calipers, remove the caliper mounting bracket. For installation, clean the hub flange and inside of the brake disc, then install the disc onto the hub assembly. On floating-type calipers, install the caliper mounting bracket, Brake Pad Set, and caliper, tightening all mounting bolts to specifications. On fixed-type calipers, install the caliper and brake pads, tightening the caliper mounting bolts. Install the wheel, lower the vehicle, and tighten the wheel lug nuts. Depress the brake pedal to bring the pads into contact with the disc. Bleeding the brake lines is not necessary unless the hose/line was disconnected.
