To inspect the brake disc, start by loosening the wheel lug nuts and raising the vehicle on jackstands. Remove the wheel and secure the disc in place with the lug nuts. If working on the rear brake disc, release the parking brake. Next, remove the brake caliper, suspending it out of way with wire. Detach the torque plate by removing mounting bolts. Visually check for score marks and damage on its surface while checking for runout using a dial indicator against rotor. If necessary, have it machined at a machine shop. It is important to resurface them so as to ensure they are smooth and does not cause pedal pulsation when braking. Check its thickness with a micrometer to ensure that refinish tolerance is observed above its minimum value. To remove the disc, remove the lug nuts and take off the disc from the hub. For stuck rear discs, rotate adjuster so as to back up parking brake shoes from drum surface. To install new one, place it over threaded studs and put torque plate and caliper back tightening bolts to specified foot-poundage Bleeding should be done only if hose was disconnected from brake assembly Finally, install wheel; lower vehicle; tighten lug nuts Test brakes before moving this vehicle.

Install the torque plate, tightening the bolts to the specified torque.
