Q:
How do you remove the fuel tank and fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit? Posted by Customer
A:
To remove the fuel tank and fuel pump/fuel gauge sending unit, start by disconnecting the fuel gauge sending an electrical connector, and removing the unit. Then, disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector and detach the suction filter hose from the fuel sub-tank. Disengage the tubes from the clamps on top of the lower suction plate and use a screwdriver to separate the upper and lower suction plates, along with the fuel filter, from the fuel sub-tank. Separate the fuel pump and pump inlet filter from the fuel filter by disengaging the snap claws. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump and remove the O-ring, replacing it if necessary. Remove the lower suction plate and two springs from the upper suction plate by removing the E-rings. To install, reverse the removal steps and ensure to use a new retaining clip on the inlet filter.
