The height of the clutch or brake pedals above the ground naturally at rest is measured. If this distance does not fall within the specified range, it must be adjusted. To adjust the brake pedal, it is necessary to unscrew a locknut and screw off a pushrod in order to provide space. Turn the push rod so that the pedal height is in middle of range. Tighten the locknut after that. At clutch pedal, first loosen locknut on clutch switch then withdraw switch. Measure the pedal height if necessary and correct it accordingly. The brake pedal switch can be adjusted by turning it clockwise until as long as top part of its body touches arm of pedal. Then rotate it counterclockwise for clearance and tighten locknut of switch.Pushing down on a pedal can make you feel its freeplay i.e., where resistance starts to build up on your foot's sole before actuation occurs. Such specifications are less than that, hence has to be corrected soon. To begin with, the locknut should be taken off from clutch pushrod to adjust pedal free-play for clutch. The push rod is undone in order to bring free play within range and this movement is followed by tightening of nut back again. For you to adjust freeplay on brake pedals; first depress their pedals several times. This measurement could also be made while adjusting if need be.The rod lock nut must first be loosened then pushrod removed backwards enabling adjustment between freeplay limits prescribed before locking nut can be retightened again.Depress using normal force exerted when braking on ordinary occasions and measure while depressing from centre pad position to floor surface.When you find that brake system has got less reserve distance which you measured by applying normal force during depression of pads till they came into contact with mat-padding while measuring from center portion towards floor.
