To remove the fuel rail and injectors, start by relieving the fuel system pressure and detaching the battery cable. Then, remove the air intake duct and engine cover. Take off the fuel rail insulators from both sides of the engine and disconnect the quick-connect fittings for fuel pipes. Disconnect the vent hose, vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator, and fuel injector harness. Remove the fuel rail mounting bolts and take out the fuel rail and injectors as a single assembly. Next, remove the two fuel rails and six or eight fuel injectors by pulling straight up on each fuel rail while wiggling the injectors free from their bores in the intake manifold. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors and remove each injector from the fuel rail. Finally, remove the old O-ring and grommets from each injector. For installation, put new O-rings and grommets on each injector, coat them with clean engine oil, and insert the injectors into the fuel rails. Push the injectors back into their bores in the intake manifold until fully seated. Install the fuel rail retaining fasteners, the fuel rail crossover pipe with new sealing washers, and tighten the banjo bolts. The remaining steps are the reverse of the removal process.
