Remove the water pump retaining bolts/nuts, and separate the pump from the engine. 4. Thoroughly clean all sealing surfaces, removing all traces of old gaskets, sealer, and O-rings. 5. Install a new metal and rubber gasket. 6. The remainder of installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the water pump bolts/nuts in several steps to the torque. 7. Refill the cooling system and run the engine, checking for leaks and proper operation.
