Q:
How to replace the CKP sensor on Toyota Sequoia and Toyota Tundra? Posted by Customer
A:
The CKP sensor is located at the front lower left corner of the engine. To replace it, first disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal. Then, raise the vehicle and secure it on jackstands. Remove the engine under-cover. On V6 models, remove the alternator and the bolt that secures the air conditioning suction line, disconnect the electrical connector from the air conditioning compressor, and unbolt the compressor. On V6 and 2UZ-FE V8 engines, disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector. On 1UR-FE, 3UR-FE, and 3UR-FBE V8 engines, remove the sensor protector mounting bolts and protector from the driver's side lower rear corner of the engine, then disconnect the sensor electrical connector. Remove the CKP sensor retaining bolt. Finally, installation is the reverse of removal, making sure to tighten the CKP sensor retaining bolt securely.
