Q:
How to handle the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor? Posted by Customer
A:
Handle the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor with care as damage to it can affect the operation of the entire fuel injection system. To begin, drain the engine coolant until the level is below the sensor. The ECT sensor is located on the front of the left cylinder head, just below the oil fill cap. Next, remove the engine cover and disconnect the electrical connector from the ECT sensor. Then, unscrew and remove the ECT sensor from the front coolant crossover using a deep socket. For installation, ensure a new sealing washer is installed on the sensor and proceed with the reverse of the removal process. Finally, refill the cooling system.
