The flasher control for Tacoma vehicles is inside the fuse/relay box in the passenger part of the car. As it should work, a distinct sound will come from it. When you struggle to signal by turning right or left but the flasher unit doesn't make the clicking sound, a bad turn signal bulb is likely at fault. A blown fuse in the passenger area, a broken or working flasher unit, a bad control switch, or wiring coming loose can cause both turn signal lights to stop working. Check the circuit fuses for one turned off, and then scan the wiring for any breaks before installing a new fuse. When fixing the flasher, disconnect the wires from the passenger compartment fuse box and make sure the new unit matches the old one before putting it back together - an exact reverse of taking it apart. Gently lift the warning switch out of the dashboard and disconnect its plug. Test terminal 2 and 3 for light connection using an ohmmeter for the lights, and test 7 and 10 when the switch is off, plus target 5, 6, and 9, plus 7 and 8 when the switch is on. When the hazard warning switch fails to work, replace it as soon as possible.
