Q:
How to remove the heater core assembly on Toyota T100,1995 through 2004 Toyota Tacoma and 1996 through 2002 Toyota 4Runner? Posted by Customer
A:
The procedure for removing the heater core assembly involves disconnecting the negative cable from the battery and draining the cooling system. In the engine compartment, the heater hoses are disconnected at the firewall and the rubber seal around the hoses is pushed towards the inside of the vehicle. The center console, glove compartment, glove compartment liner, ashtray, radio, center dash bezels, and instrument panel are removed. The heater/air conditioning controls are also removed from the panel on the dash. The ECM is removed without disconnecting the connectors and set aside. The control cables from the heater unit are disconnected. The center ventilation duct and lower center duct are unbolted and removed. The screws retaining the heater tubes to the housing are loosened, and the heater core is pulled out of the housing. Installation is the reverse order of removal, and the cooling system is refilled.
