    Q:
How to check the PCV valve and hose on Toyota Sienna? Posted by Customer
    A:
To test the PCV valve, detach the hose, remove the valve, and then reconnect. Inspect for vacuum at the valve opening while the engine is idling. Also, if there's no vacuum, inspect for a clogged hose or valve and replace it. Detach the valve, and blow through it from the cylinder head end. If air doesn't pass, you should replace the valve.

    Q:
What should I consider when purchasing a replacement PCV valve for the 2003 Toyota Avalon? Posted by Customer
    A:
When purchasing a replacement PCV valve, make sure it is for your particular vehicle and engine size. Compare the old valve with the new one to ensure they are the same.

    Q:
How can you check if the PCV valve is functioning properly for the 2003 Toyota Highlander? Posted by Customer
    A:
With the engine idling at normal operating temperature, place your finger over the valve opening. If there's no vacuum at the valve, check for a plugged hose or valve.

    Q:
How does the PCV system function to achieve its goal for the 2003 Toyota Highlander? Posted by Customer
    A:
Fresh air enters the crankcase, mixes with blow-by gases, and exits through the PCV valve into the intake manifold. At high vacuum (idle/cruise), flow is steady; under load, flow increases to reduce pressure and emissions.

    Q:
What is the role of the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) system in the 2001 Toyota Solara? Posted by Customer
    A:
The PCV system is responsible for reducing hydrocarbon emissions by circulating fresh air from the air cleaner through the crankcase, where it mixes with blow-by gases and is then rerouted through a PCV valve to the intake manifold.

    Q:
I have an '01 Highlander 3.0L v6 1MZ-FE. I understand the rear(or RH) valve cover has been updated to a newer version that also entails a different PCV valve( part # 12204-20040 I believe). I will be replacing the rear cover and apparently the newer PCV valve. My question is about the PCV valve to intake manifold hose. Is there a different hose that is needed also? The original black plastic valve has a 90 degree elbow on it, and it looks like the newer replacement has no elbow on it. I will more than likely be getting the parts from you since you definitely have the lowest prices of anyone I see, along with a valve cover gasket and whatever else I may need.
