For 2009 and earlier models, ensure the ignition key is off, drain the engine coolant and transaxle/inverter/converter coolant, remove the inverter/converter assembly, disconnect the wiring from the sensor, and remove it along with the gasket, which is located at the left end of the engine. Installation involves reversing the removal process and replacing the gasket, followed by refilling the cooling systems. For 2010 and later models, remove the EGR valve and cooler assembly, take out the two mounting bolts from the coolant reserve tank and move it aside, disconnect the wiring from the ECT sensor, and unscrew the sensor. Installation is again the reverse of removal, ensuring the seal is replaced.
