For 2005 and later models without a dipstick, change the transmission fluid every 60,000 miles under severe conditions. After the engine cools, buy the specified fluid and a new filter. You'll need a floor jack, jackstands, a drain pan, newspapers, and rags. Raise the vehicle and place the drain pan under the transmission pan. Remove the drain plug, let the fluid drain, and reinstall the plug. Remove the pan rock shield and bolts. Break the gasket seal and lower the pan. Separate the dipstick tube parts and drain remaining fluid. Remove the filter retaining bolts and filter. Check the pan, filter, and fluid for damage. Clean the pan and remove old gasket material. Install new gaskets, apply RTV sealant, and reinsert the filler tube. Tighten the bolts and lower the vehicle. Add 1-1/2 quarts of fluid, start the engine, and move the gear selector. Check the fluid level and add as needed. Check for leaks and fluid level when hot.
