Loosen the wheel lug nuts, lift the vehicle and then support the weight of the vehicle properly by placing jackstands and then only remove the wheel. Then, slightly unscrew locknut of the tie-rod and make a note of the position of tie-rod end on the threaded part of the tie rod. To dismantle, the cotter pin is to be removed then the castle nut loosened from the tie-rod end ball joint stud, a puller is then used to pull the tie rod end apart from the steering knuckle, lastly the tie rod end is pulled off from the steering knuckle arm. Remove the old tie-rod end and replace it with a new one which should be slided on the tie-rod in such a manner that is fitted on the mark made on threads of the tie-rod. Last but not the least, installation is the reversal of the removal process ensuring that the tight the tie-rod end ball joint nut to the recommended torque and then tighten the lock nut.
