How to remove and install both the front and rear bumpers on 1997 through 2001 Toyota Avalon?

With your parking brake on, raise the vehicle and place jackstands under it to make sure the front end won't sink. After disconnecting the negative battery lead, then the positive lead, give the system 2 minutes to fully power down. Take off the lights from the front, the parking lights, the grille, and the top cover. First, turn the vehicle upside down, then pull the bumper backward until the tabs on the back align with the clips on the body. After securing the bolts and screws, asking someone to help with these final steps. To take off the rear bumper cover, pop off plastic clips and unscrew the lower screws from underneath the car. Then unfasten the corner nuts inside the trunk on each side. To disconnect the cover behind the bumper, lift up the trunk lid and take off any clips or pins holding it in place to pull the cover forward from the car. Installation is the reverse of removal.
