To reach the front park/turn signal bulb on Avalon models, you need to remove a plastic pin or screw above the housing, which lets you pull out the whole housing to see the bulb on the back. Turn the holder on the bulb counterclockwise, then pull the bulb out. For installation, reverse the removal steps. Before you fix anything in the taillight, lift off its lens by unscrewing two fasteners, then take out the bulb holders by turning them to the left. You can reach the bulbs by pulling down the inspection covers that latch with Velcro on the trunk-lid part. Installation is the reverse of removal. To update the license plate light in the trunk lid, unclip it from the liner, remove the sockets from the back of the lid, put new bulbs in, and reassemble by reversing this process. To take off the high brake light, first let down the trunk to reach two plastic locks holding it in place. Then pull the light housing up from the inside, and rotate the bulb socket counterclockwise to pull it out. Installation is the reverse of removal. You need to take out the instrument cluster first, then twist its back panels counterclockwise to access and remove the bulbs. Installation is the reverse of removal. To get the interior light out, carefully lift the lens off the case and disconnect the bulb from the metal contacts. Just pull from the bulb's sides to keep the glass from breaking. Installation is the reverse of removal.
