Start by taking off the door trim panel and plastic water shield, before removing the window glass assembly, to free the front door assembly on Avalon models. When removing electric windows, unplug their electrical connection, then unscrew the bolts that secure the entire window regulator assembly. Before taking out the bolts, note where the bolt for the top roller guide sits at the back, then unfasten the bolts for the bottom roller guide and the six screws holding the regulator motor to the door. Afterward, remove the window assemblies by pulling them through the established door frame opening. Before putting the regulator back, treat the rollers and the places that wear most to move smoothly with white grease. You must start taking apart the rear door assembly: first remove the door trim panel and plastic water shield, then the window glass unit. Unplug the power wire from the window regulator motor on your power windows, then undo the screws that hold the window regulator and motor together. Both the front and rear door assemblies use this same mounting method. To take out and install the regulator unit, move the equalizer bar away and lift the regulator parts through the opening in the door frame. Afterwards, apply fresh lubrication to rollers and worn areas.
