What is the location and function of the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) on Toyota Matrix?

Above the transaxle, you will find the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). This sensor is a piece of electronic equipment that produces a pulsating voltage whenever the sensor shaft rotates. The PCM then monitors these voltage pulses to help regulate the fuel and ignition systems as well as transaxle shifting. First, take off the air filter housing in order to replace it.
