Loosen the wheel lug nuts, raise the vehicle, and securely support it on jackstands before removing the wheel. Next, take off the brake drum or disc, and for models with ABS, disconnect the wheel sensor. Remove the four hub-to-axle beam bolts accessed from behind the brake backing plate, then take out the hub and bearing assembly from its seat, maneuvering it through the brake assembly. If the hub shows looseness or excessive runout, replace the hub and bearing assembly as a unit. For installation, position the hub and bearing assembly on the axle carrier and align the holes in the backing plate, then install and tighten all four bolts. Finally, install the brake drum and ABS sensor if equipped, put the wheel back on, lower the vehicle, and tighten the lug nuts.
