This procedure has to be done for front as well as rear wheel studs. Initially, take off the wheel by partially unbolting the wheel lug nuts, lifting the vehicle until the wheels can be raised onto jack stands safely. Subsequently, remove the brake disc or the brake drum. Place one lug nut half threaded onto the stud that has to be removed and then use an automobile press tool to force the said stud out of the hub flange. A new stud must be inserted into the hub flange from behind and when this is done, some flat washers and a lug nut is fitted on the stud and the nut is tightened to bring in the stud into position. After this, the stud is seated on its designated position on the flange, the brake drum or disc should be replaced, the wheel placed on the hub and the lug nuts tightened, before lowering the car.
